Why Combine CBD into Cocktails?
CBD is not intoxicating. What this means is that you can add it to your cocktail without it intensifying the effects of the drink. Alcohol is a downer, and for some, may be relaxing at first but often leads to feeling blue.
CBD and coffee are a great pair too. Coffee tends to give us a jolt of energy in the morning, but doesn’t maintain energy all day long.

CBD Destressing Peppermint Tea
The benefits of peppermint, in tea and extract form, are backed by science. Peppermint is caffeine-free, which makes it an ideal choice for relaxing before bed. It also works as a muscle relaxer to better prepare your body for sleep.
2 cups water
1 big handful of fresh, torn peppermint leaves
2 to 3 tablespoons of lavender blossoms
Place 2 cups of water into a sauce pot and turn the heat to medium high. Allow the water to come to a boil. Add the torn peppermint leaves and lavender blossoms. Cover the pot.
Steep the herbs in the water for 5 minutes. Strain the tea into your favorite tea cup, add the peppermint CBD tincture, stir and enjoy.
Turn this tea into a nighttime cocktail by adding a shot of gin, bourbon or whiskey.
CBD Julep Nightcap
Mint juleps are a popular cocktail at the end of a long day. Peppermint CBD tincture adds another layer of peppermint flavor.
1 mL peppermint CBD tincture
2.5 oz. good bourbon
1 ½ teaspoons superfine sugar
10 fresh mint leaves
Splash of seltzer water
Fresh mint for garnish
Chill your favorite old-fashioned glass in the freezer for at least 2 hours.
Place the sugar and mint leaves in the bottom of your chilled glass. Muddle the two together until the mint leaves start to break down. Pour just a splash of seltzer water in the glass along with your peppermint CBD oil.
Add crushed ice until the glass is ¾ full. Add the bourbon. Put one more splash of seltzer water in the glass. Stir and garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.
Refreshing Vanilla CBD Sangria
Winter is in full force, but a refreshing sangria may transport your mind to the middle of summer. A touch of vanilla flavor helps cut the acidity of the citrus fruits.
1 mL Vanilla CBD Tincture per glass
2 cups seltzer water, chilled
½ cup fresh orange juice
1 vanilla bean, split
1 cup cranberry juice or cranberry juice cocktail
3 cups red wine
Slice your citrus fruits into thin rings. Then core the apple, but leave the skin on, and cut it into 1” cubes.
Chill your favorite sangria pitcher in the fridge for a couple of hours. Add the fruit to the pitcher first.
Next, split the vanilla bean but do not scrape the inside. Place the split vanilla bean into the pitcher. Add the orange and cranberry juice and stir. Let this sit for 10 minutes. Add the seltzer water and wine. Stir.
Add ice to each glass along with 1 mL of vanilla CBD tincture. Pour the sangria over the top, stir and enjoy.
Smooth Vanilla Nighty-Night Tea
Forget the alcohol and relax with a hot cup of tea. Chamomile tea is popular in the evening and may support a better night’s sleep.
1 tablespoon dried chamomile flowers (substitute a chamomile tea bag if desired)
1 cup water
½ cup half and half
1 mL vanilla CBD tincture
1 tablespoon honey (substitute stevia if you are diabetic)
Start by bringing the water to a boil in a saucepan. Add the chamomile flowers or tea bag and allow it to steep for 5 minutes. Strain and pour the water into a mug.
Add the honey or stevia, half and half and vanilla CBD tincture. Stir and enjoy.
Hot Spiked CBD Lavender Cocoa
Are you a little achy after a hard day’s work? Maybe you’re experiencing a little extra stress. Lavender is known for its soothing characteristics. This may be why it’s said to work for helping babies fall asleep.
1 mL vanilla CBD oil
2 tablespoons Dutch cocoa powder
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla paste
1 cup half and half
4 drops lavender essential oil
1 teaspoon dry lavender
1 ounce whiskey or bourbon
Start by heating the half and half in a saucepan until the edges start to bubble. Add the dry lavender, turn off the heat and cover the pot. Steep the lavender for 10 minutes. Strain.
Add the maple syrup and cocoa powder to the saucepan. Let the maple syrup heat to combine the cocoa powder first. Add the vanilla CBD oil, lavender oil, vanilla paste and whiskey/bourbon to the pot. Stir to combine. Add the half and half back to the pot. Stir and allow to simmer for 5 minutes.
Serve in your favorite mug. Top with whipped cream if you wish.

These CBD cocktails are easy to make. Substitutions can be made to adjust the recipes for any dietary restrictions. Substituting ingredients such as stevia, almond milk, soy milk or sugar alternative can be used when a dietary restriction exists.
