Our simple guide will have you making CBD bath bombs like a pro in no time. Get a head start on Christmas gifts and perfect your technique in time to make a bunch to give as gifts this year. Handmade gifts are often appreciated more because of the time and thought that goes into making them. It’s not something off of a store shelf that everyone has, which makes these gifts even more special.

DIY CBD Bath Bombs Base Recipe

When you’re making your own CBD bath bombs, you’ll need a base recipe. From here, you can play with different combinations of essential oils and colors to make your creations unique.  If you are choosing to color your bath bombs, we suggest using dry coloring pigment. It’s great to add color, but you don’t want to color your skin in the process and dry, powdered pigment is the way to go. You can find coloring pigment on Amazon.

CBD Bath Bombs Ingredients:

½ cup Epsom salt

½ cup cornstarch

¾ tablespoon water

1 ½ tablespoons almond oil or coconut oil

1 Tablespoon Canna Trading Co. CBD Tincture of your choice (we’ll give suggestions in different essential oil combinations later)

1 cup baking soda

½ cup citric acid

Dry coloring pigment

14 drops essential oil (we’ll give you some combinations of oils to play with below)

Mixing these ingredients couldn’t be easier. Start by mixing your cornstarch, baking soda, cry coloring pigment and citric acid in a bowl. Use a fork to combine them. Then, add your Epsom salt. Mix the wet ingredients separately. Add just a few drops at a time to ensure that you are distributing them evenly. The wet ingredient mixture is also where you’ll add your essential oils.

Note: The amount of coloring pigment you add is up to you. You’ll be able to see how bright or light the color is once you’ve added the water, oil and CBD tincture. It’s easy to adjust the color if you want it brighter or darker by just adding a little more of the pigment.

The next step is shaping your CBD bath bombs into your desired shape. Balls are the most common shape. Use silicone molds for this process as they are the easiest to work with and are flexible.

Press the CBD bath bombs into the molds firmly. Once you’ve reached a firm shape, allow them to sit for at least 24 hours to ensure that they are completely dry. Store your CBD bath bombs in an airtight container away from heat sources. The CBD bath bombs should last for up to 6 months if properly stored.

Fun Fact: Bath bombs fizz because of the citric acid and baking soda in them.
