If you can’t find CBD body lotion in your local area and can’t wait for shipping, you can easily add Canna Trading Co. CBD Tinctures to your body lotion at home. You can also add our Renew CBD Facial Cream to your lotion as well. We’ll explain how below. We’ve also included a couple of moisturizing lotion recipes so you can make your own lotion at home using only natural ingredients.
Choosing the Right Canna Trading Co. CBD Tinctures for Lotion
Canna Trading Co. offers a variety of hemp CBD tinctures. While some tinctures are designed to support certain symptoms, others are for general use. Our Organic Olive Oil Tincture, Peppermint Tincture and Vanilla Tincture can all be used as multi-purpose CBD tinctures. These are our most versatile tinctures as they can be used topically, orally, can be cooked with and can be added to non-CBD products like lotions, shampoos and even toothpaste.
For moisturizing purposes, we suggest our Organic Olive Oil Tincture. Olive oil is great for your skin and scalp.
Below you’ll find several methods for making your own CBD lotion for different uses.
Natural Moisturizing CBD Lotion
With this moisturizing lotion you can add essential oils to the entire batch, not at all or in just a small amount at a time. We suggest making the base recipe and adding essential oils as you need them for different purposes.
2 tablespoons sweet almond or avocado oil
1 teaspoon Renew CBD Facial Cream
½ cup shea butter
½ dropper Organic Olive Oil Tincture, Inflammation Tincture or Vanilla Tincture
All you need to make this lotion is a glass bowl and a saucepan. You’ll create a double boiler with just a little bit of water in the bottom of the saucepan. The water should just barely simmer.
Add the shea butter into the double boiler and allow it to melt. When it’s completely melted, add in your sweet almond or avocado oil. Turn off the heat and stir everything together.
Let it cool a few minutes and then add in the Renew CBD Facial Cream and Canna Trading Co. CBD tincture of your choosing.
Since this is an all-natural lotion, it’s best stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
If you are using essential oils, you’ll do that after the lotion has chilled for 20 minutes. All you’ll need to do is whisk them in well to combine them.
Here are some of the essential oils that work well with this particular lotion:
- Tea tree oil
- Carrot seed essential oil
- Rosemary essential oil
- Lavender essential oil
You can use all of these essential oils together, but we do not suggest using more than 20 drops total of essential oils. Lavender is often used as a nighttime essential oil for its calming properties. Rosemary is ideal for morning and afternoon use. Tea tree essential oil is great when it is combined with rosemary or lavender essential oils. The carrot seed essential oil can be combined with all of these essential oils or used on its own.
Homemade Natural Foot Lotion
Feet often get neglected but they have a big job to do. Keeping your feet happy and healthy is important. After a shower, bath or workout, show your feet a little love by applying some lotion. They need nourishing and moisturizing too.
¼ cup shea butter
¼ cup cocoa butter
6 tablespoons grapeseed oil
1 dropper Peppermint Tincture
2 tablespoons beeswax
30 drops peppermint essential oil
1 teaspoon arrowroot
Add the beeswax, shea butter, grapeseed oil and cocoa butter into a glass bowl. Melt this over a double boiler. Make sure the water isn’t touching the bowl. Whisk gently to promote even melting and distribution.
Just before the ingredients become solid again, add in your peppermint tincture and peppermint essential oil.
Now it’s time to pull out the stand mixer. Grab the paddle attachment and whip the lotion until it looks creamy. Turn off the mixer and sprinkle in the arrowroot. Turn the speed onto low and just incorporate the arrowroot until the lotion looks creamy, fluffy and opaque. You can turn the speed up to high after the arrowroot is fully incorporate.
The finished product should resemble frosting.
This recipe should be stored in an airtight container. It can be stored in the refrigerator (leave it sit out for about 10 – 15 minutes before application so it can loosen some) or just in a cool, dark place.
Easy Skin Soothing Cream
If you experience inflammation, redness, burning, itching or other irritating skin conditions, finding a soothing cream that you like can be difficult. It’s pretty simple to make your own at home. This is also a great skin soothing cream to give as a gift to friends and family that might have similar skin issues.
½ tablespoon olive oil
½ tablespoon Organic Olive Oil Tincture
6 drops rosemary essential oil
5 drops peppermint essential oil
¼ cup rolled oats
¾ cup coconut oil
All you need to do here is pulse the rolled oats until they become a powder. Next you’ll just add the coconut oil and olive oil to a double boiler setup, making sure that the water doesn’t touch the bowl. Once the coconut oil starts to melt, add in your rolled oats and olive oil.
Once the coconut oil is completely melted, add in your rosemary and peppermint essential oils. After just a couple of minutes, remove the bowl from the double boiler. Let it sit 5 minutes and add in your Organic Olive Oil Tincture.
Transfer the cream to airtight containers and let it harden for 4 hours before applying it to your skin.
If you prefer a creamier, lighter cream you can put this into a stand mixer with the paddle attachment and whip it until it’s fluffy like meringue.
To nourish your skin better you can also add a teaspoon or two of our Renew CBD Facial Cream as well.
