Cannabis may not be something that all of your guests will want to ingest, so you can make these simple CBD Christmas cookies instead. Of course you should inform your friends and family that the cookies do contain CBD just in case they aren’t on the CBD train yet. Remind them that it won’t make them high. The 0.3% THC or less can leave trace metabolites behind, which can cause a positive drug screen result – it’s best to inform them of this as well.
Canna Trading Co. uses broad spectrum hemp CBD Extract. A very small amount of THC remains to achieve the entourage effect.
Our Favorite CBD Christmas Cookies
We’ve updated a few classic recipes so that you can make your own CBD Christmas cookies at home. We’ve also included a recipe for CBD royal icing that you can use to decorate with and flavor/color any way you wish. We hope you enjoy a few of these CBD Christmas Cookies this holiday season.
CBD Royal Icing
This royal icing recipe is so easy to make. It’s the perfect place to add a touch of flavor with our Canna Trading Co. Peppermint CBD Tincture or Vanilla CBD Tincture. Using these will add just a little bit of subtle flavor to the otherwise sweet icing.
3 Tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract (you can also use a flavored extract instead)
6 Tablespoons coconut oil
2 ¾ cups powdered sugar
For this recipe, all you need to do is combine the coconut oil and hemp CBD tincture and whisk them together well. Then, add in the milk and vanilla extract (vanilla bean paste puts forth more vanilla flavor). Last, slowly add the powdered sugar.
If you choose to color your royal icing, use food gel instead of food coloring. The colors are more vibrant and you don’t need as much.
Royal icing is designed to harden as it sits. It’s best to apply it to your cookies as soon as you’re done with it. Leave the cookies out on the counter so that the icing can harden. It should take an hour or two for the hardening process to be completed. Sometimes, depending on the temperature in your home, it could be less than an hour.
Snowballs are intended to be a single bite. These aren’t the ones you toss at each other, unless you’re trying to toss one into someone’s mouth. We’ve taken this classic recipe and updated it to include CBD. You can choose the Canna Trading Co. hemp CBD tincture that suits your needs or purpose for this recipe. We suggest either our Vanilla Tincture or our Anxiety Calming Tincture.
1 cup unsalted butter
2 droppers Canna Trading Co. Hemp CBD Tincture
½ cup powdered sugar, plus more for dusting
1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
2 ¼ cups flour (all-purpose or your preferred substitute)
¾ cup finely chopped toasted walnuts or pecans
¼ teaspoon sea salt
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees.
Cream the butter with ½ cup of powdered sugar. Add in the vanilla bean paste and hemp CBD tincture. Add the salt to the flour and whisk. Alternate the addition of flour and nuts until everything is combined.
Roll 1-inch balls of dough and place them on an ungreased cookie sheet at least 1/2” apart.
Bake the cookies for 15 – 18 minutes. Check for doneness. They should be pale in color but slightly firm.
Allow them to cool for just a couple of minutes so that you can handle them safely and roll them in powdered sugar.
Canna Trading Co. CBD Cookie Bars
Before we get to the recipe, let us warn you that these CBD cookie bars are beyond addicting. Consider making a double batch so that your friends and family can have some. These are great for holiday parties, gift baskets and with your evening cup of coffee.
½ cup caramel chips
14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup toasted chopped walnuts or pecans
1 cup toasted coconut flakes (reserve ¼ cup)
1 cup broken graham crackers
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1 cup dark chocolate chunks (reserve 1/8 cup for the topping)
2 tablespoons Canna Trading Co. Organic Olive Oil CBD Tincture or Vanilla CBD Tincture
½ cup butter
Tiny pinch of sea salt
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees
Grease an 11×7 casserole dish with butter or butter flavored cooking spray.
In a saucepan, melt the butter on low heat (you can also microwave it for 25 – 30 seconds). When melted, add the CBD oil and whisk. Add the graham cracker crumbs and fold.
Place this in the bottom of your casserole dish and press it down well. Add the chunks of graham crackers next and press them down.
Now, pour the sweetened condensed milk over the graham cracker layers and spread evenly. Make sure every inch of the graham cracker surface is coated.
Layer in the chocolate chunks, walnuts, caramel chips and toasted coconut. Press it down.
Bake for 25 minutes.
Once done, sprinkle the remaining ¼ cup of coconut flakes and 1/8 cup of chocolate chunks over the top. You can drizzle more Canna Trading Co. hemp CBD tincture over the top if you wish.
Cut into bite size pieces. Serve at room temperature or chilled.
Tip: Make these even more addicting by adding in chopped cherries and dipping them in chocolate. You can make a CBD chocolate candy shell that will harden on contact if you place the cookie bars in the freezer. The CBD chocolate candy shell is easy – 8 ounces of dark chocolate, 1 tablespoon hemp CBD tincture and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil.
These are sometimes called “magic cookie bars”. If you’re a cannabis lover, you can use cannabis oil instead of CBD.
See how easy these CBD Christmas cookies are to make? You can use the royal icing to pipe little designs onto your snowballs and add a little design to your cookie bars too. Get creative. Make a whole CBD Christmas cookies platter for your gathering – make sure to label them CBD so your guests are aware.
