Our Favorite CBD New Year’s Eve Appetizers
These are some of our favorite CBD New Year’s Eve appetizers. Please feel free to make substitutions where your diet or preference requires. As always, share your photos with us on Facebook and Twitter. We’d love to see how your attempts turn out.
CT CBD Buffalo Chicken Dip
Our CT CBD Buffalo Chicken Dip calls for Alchemy. We chose Alchemy for this recipe because it has a warm peppery flavor to it. It goes nicely with the heat of the buffalo flavor.
1 cup Buffalo sauce (not hot sauce, buffalo wing sauce)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon chili flakes
4 green onions snipped thin
1 ½ cups shredded baked chicken breast (bake with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper)
1 ½ cups cheddar cheese
1 cup buttermilk ranch dressing
150 mg Alchemy (3 droppers)
1 package cream cheese softened
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder
2 teaspoons dry oregano
1 ½ cups mozzarella or jack cheese
Snip your green onions thinly with kitchen shears and set them aside.
Add your buffalo wing sauce, spices and chili flakes to a sauce pan. Turn the heat to medium low. Add in your cream cheese and buttermilk ranch. Add an additional tablespoon of buttermilk if you want a little thinner consistency.
Whisk until combined and creamy.
Take the saucepan over the heat. Add the green onions, chicken and one cup of each of your shredded cheeses.
Mix in the Alchemy, place the mixture into a baking dish. Press it down tightly and add the remaining ½ cup of each of the cheeses. Pop it in a 350 degree oven just long enough to melt the cheese on top.
There is a lot of fat in the cheeses, which will help protect the CBD during the baking process.
Serve in a bread bowl or just in the baking dish with crackers, veggies and pita chips for dipping.
Chicken Satay with CBD Peanut Sauce
Chicken satay can be served on skewers. Handheld foods are always popular for New Year’s Eve. Encourage your guests to take a spoonful of the sauce and drizzle it over their skewers to prevent double-dipping. For this recipe, we are suggesting our 750 mg Organic Olive Oil Tincture – it pairs with the peanut flavor very well and can be brushed over the chicken as it’s done grilling with an Asian glaze with sesame oil (directions below).
2 pounds chicken thighs deboned and skinned
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
Freshly ground peppercorn medley to taste
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 ½ teaspoons turmeric
2 ½ teaspoons yellow curry powder
1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
3 cloves garlic smashed, peeled and minced
¼ cup coconut milk
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon fish sauce
Combine all of the ingredients into a bowl and let the chunks of chicken marinate overnight in the refrigerator. You can use chicken breast tenders if it’s easier and faster for you. Plan on 2 – 3 skewers per guest.
CBD Peanut Sauce:
3 droppers Canna Trading Co. 750 mg Organic Olive Oil Tincture (150 mg)
1 cup coconut milk
1 tablespoon agave nectar
2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
½ teaspoon minced garlic
¾ teaspoon yellow curry powder
1/3 cup creamy organic peanut butter
1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
1 tablespoons soy sauce
¼ cup water
Warm the agave nectar, coconut milk, sesame oil, soy sauce and peanut butter in a sauce pan. When the peanut butter has melted, add the garlic, rice wine vinegar, curry powder and 1 tablespoon of water at a time until the consistency coats the back of a spoon.
Remove from the heat and whisk in the Organic Olive Oil Tincture. Garnish with chopped cilantro.
Place the chicken satay skewers on a serving dish. Garnish the top with chopped fresh cilantro and more snipped green onions. Serve the sauce on the side with a spoon.
Quick Buttermilk CBD Dip
We love this dip because it can be used with almost anything. It’s pretty close to ranch dressing but can be dressed up a few different ways to be a versatile offering to your guests. For this recipe, you can use the Canna Trading Co. CBD Tincture of your choice. If you have several on-hand, label your dishes and use something different in each one (unless it’s the peppermint or vanilla tinctures – our next guide will feature those in some awesome CBD virgin cocktails).
1/3 cup buttermilk
1 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons fresh cracked black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon dry minced onion
1 teaspoon dry thyme
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon dry oregano
½ teaspoon dry rosemary
1 tablespoon dry chives
1 teaspoon ground mustard
Whisk everything together in a bowl and chill.
Variations for this include:
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flake
- Minced cooked shrimp, oysters, crab or shrimp
- Chopped roasted red pepper and grape tomatoes
These variations can be served with any dipping options that you choose from veggies to crostini or crackers.
We hope that you enjoy these CBD New Year’s Eve appetizers this year. They’re a fun spin on classic recipes. We’ve also made your job easier by suggesting the proper tincture to use with the recipe. This helps you get the perfect pairing of flavors for each dish. These might easily become game day favorite snacks or something your friends and family just want to have more often when you get together.
