CBD Deviled Eggs with Bacon and Chives

Although these aren’t patriotic, they’re easy and delicious to make. As your former chef and author, I’m going to share my personal trick for getting perfect hardboiled eggs every time. You’ll want to figure about 1 whole egg per person, including the kids. It’s also a good idea to let your guests know that you’ve added CBD to the filling. Consider making some without any CBD for the kids and those that might not want the CBD.

1 dozen eggs within a week of their expiration date (older eggs are better)

2 droppers Canna Trading Co. Organic Olive Oil Tincture

5 tablespoons real mayonnaise

2 teaspoons classic yellow mustard

3 – 4 tablespoons pickle relish

Sea salt and fresh cracked black pepper to taste

4 strips smoked bacon (Applewood is great for this recipe)

Snipped chives for garnish

Paprika for garnish

Start by placing your eggs into a large saucepan and making sure they’re covered by at least 1 inch of water. Turn the heat on to medium high. Bring to a boil. Let boil 3 minutes and turn the heat off. Leave the pan on the burner for 10 minutes. Drain hot water and start to cool the eggs by running cold water over them.

Cook your bacon while the eggs cook. Place it on paper towels to drain and crumble it when it’s cooled down.

To peel the eggs, smack the wider end against the edge of the sink basin and pinch to release pressure. Use the side of your thumb to start working the shell off. This works better when the eggs are closer to their expiration date and are still a little warm. Put the peeled eggs back into the pan to rinse off any tiny pieces of shell or membrane.

Slice the eggs in half lengthwise and scoop the yolks into a bowl. Take a fork and mash the yolks. Add all of the ingredients except the paprika, chives and bacon. Mix and taste. Adjust your seasoning.

Fill each cavity of the eggs generously. Sprinkle the paprika on first then garnish with plenty of bacon and chives.

Red, White and Bleu Tater Salad with CBD Dressing

We’re taking a few elements of a classic redskin potato salad and putting our own spin on it. This potato salad goes great with all of your favorites from the grill. It’s really easy to make.

4 cups new potatoes (baby redskin potatoes) halved

½ cup sour cream

½ cup mayonnaise

¼ cup crumbled bleu cheese

2 droppers Canna Trading Co. Alchemy tincture

Sea salt and fresh cracked black pepper to taste

½ sweet onion diced

1 tablespoon dill (fresh or dry)

2 teaspoons thyme (dry or fresh)

¼ cup fresh Italian parsley chopped coarsely

2 stalks celery sliced thin

*Optional: green chiles for a little heat*

Wash and prep your potatoes. Place them into a large saucepan and cover them with water. Salt the water as you would for pasta. Bring to a boil and boil until the potatoes are fork tender.

Drain and let cool.

Make your sauce with the sour cream, CBD tincture, mayonnaise, salt, pepper, thyme, dill and parsley. You can also add some garlic and onion powder if you’d like too.

Fold in your onions, celery and crumbled bleu cheese. Taste and adjust the seasoning. When the potatoes are cooled, fold them into the sauce and chill it before serving.

Memorial Day Green Salad with CBD

In some areas of the country it’s heating up pretty quickly. A cool, refreshing green salad might be just what some of your guests crave. Salads can also be topped with grilled proteins. If you are concerned with food allergies, you can leave the ingredients separate in chilled bowls for your guests to build their own salad.

4 cups mixed salad greens

4 cups baby spinach rinsed and dried

½ cup toasted walnuts

½ cup fresh blueberries

½ cup fresh strawberries

½ cup thinly sliced onion

¼ pound crumbled bacon

6 hardboiled eggs chopped

Poppyseed dressing with 2 droppers of Canna Trading Co. Organic Olive Oil Tincture

½ cup sunflower kernels

2 cups shredded cheese (optional)

For this recipe, it’s much easier to purchase a pre-made poppyseed dressing unless you have a recipe that you love. Add the CBD tincture to it and whisk to combine.

If you are going to serve this as a made salad, put the greens down first and then layer on your toppings. Leave the dressing on the side so the greens don’t get soggy.

You can also serve this as a make your own salad with all of the toppings in bowls with spoons for serving.

This salad can also have small chunks of ham, turkey, chicken, steak or grilled shrimp served with it.
