Crab Stuffed Puff Pastry with CBD Cream Sauce

This is something that can become an addicting one of your munchies with CBD. It might become a frequent request for non-holiday gatherings. It really is easy to make.

1 package store-bought puff pastry

1 container of jumbo lump crab meat (avoid the imitation crab meat for this recipe)

3 green onions

1 package of softened cream cheese

2 eggs

½ teaspoon garlic powder

Pinch of sea salt

1 cup heavy cream

1 tablespoons whole butter

2 droppers Canna Trading Co. Organic Olive Oil CBD Tincture

1 tablespoon flour

¼ teaspoon corn starch

1 teaspoon dry chives

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Paprika for garnish

Chopped fresh Italian parsley for garnish

Preheat the oven per the package instructions on your puff pastry.

In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with 1 egg, the Italian seasoning, black pepper, garlic powder, pinch of salt and thinly sliced green onion. When combined well, fold in the lump crab meat.

Cut the puff pastry into small squares and place them into a mini muffin tin. Spoon just a small amount of the mixture into each one making sure that all of them have a bite of crab.

Beat the remaining egg and brush the tops of the puff pastry.

Bake per package instructions. Check the puff pastry with 3 minutes left in the cooking time to see if it is done. Also check the center of the filling with a toothpick. It should come out clean if it is cooked through.

While these bake, start your cream sauce by making a roux with the flour and butter. Let this cook for 3 minutes and then slowly add in your heavy cream, whisking constantly. Add in your dry chives and some more black pepper. Simmer on medium low heat, allowing the cream sauce to thicken and reduce by half. Remove from the heat and combine the CBD tincture with the corn starch. Add this to the cream sauce (it’ll help prevent separation). The heat left in the pan will help cook the cornstarch so it doesn’t taste like raw flour. Add the dry chives.

Remove the puff pastry from the oven and spoon the cream sauce over the top of each one. Garnish the tops with a tap of paprika and a sprinkle of the fresh chopped parsley.
