04 Jan Spooky Infused Beverages for your Halloween Party
If you’re trying to add a new element to your annual Halloween party, why not consider some spooky, infused options this year? It’s easy to make one alcoholic version for the adults and a non-alcoholic version for the kids. These spooky infused beverages for your Halloween party include a little something extra – also to be omitted if making it for children.
Why Drink Infused Beverages?
Whether you’re a CBD or THC lover, infused beverages are another way that you can enjoy your favorite cannabinoid with discretion. There’s still a stigma surrounding medical cannabis and, yes, even medicinal hemp products — so these options allow you (and maybe some friends) to enjoy a medicated beverage instead of creating unpleasant cannabis smoke and drawing attention to yourselves.
*When recipes include more than 1 mL of CBD oil or cannabis in the infused beverages recipe — this is the entire amount suggested for the whole batch. Of course, you could also just add 1 dropper of CBD oil or a 10 mg dose of THC-containing cannabis to each glass separately too.
Witches Brew Punch
1 cup Vodka (omit for virgin version)
1 cup sugar or sugar substitute
1 cup water
½ cup fresh mint (leaves only)
1 liter ginger ale
25 mg CBD oil or Cannabis oil
Start by peeling your kiwi. Make a simple syrup with the sugar and water. Cool the simple syrup. Grab your blender and add the simple syrup, kiwi, CBD/cannabis oil and mint. Blend until smooth. Add to a cauldron or heavy punch bowl covered in Halloween décor. Place dry ice around the exterior in small containers and disguise them. Pour a little water into each container so that the dry ice “steams”.
Add ice cubes to the cauldron to keep the punch cool. Consider making the ice cubes more festive by freezing spiders and eyeballs in them. Gumball eyeballs and candy spiders are ideal so they can also be enjoyed.
Make sure that your guests are made aware if you are using cannabis or CBD oil. TheCBD oil is not intoxicating, so it may help prevent those that really love the punch from becoming too intoxicated from the alcohol.
Haunted Hot Chocolate
1 2/3 cup heavy cream
2 cups whole milk
8 oz. chopped dark chocolate
6 Tbsp. sugar or sugar substitute
Mini chocolate chips
Vanilla or cinnamon rum (if desired)
25 mg cannabis or CBD oil
Heated raspberry jam
In a saucepan, combine the milk and heavy cream. Heat to a simmer and add the sugar. Stir for 3 minutes and add the chocolate. When melted, add the CBD or cannabis oil.
Remove from heat when all items are combined and heated through. Add the rum and stir.
Ladle into Halloween-themed cups or mugs. Top with whipped cream and two chocolate chips for eyeballs. Garnish with a drizzle of heated raspberry jam to resemble blood.
Label and/or inform as “contains THC” if you are using cannabis oil. Also inform guests that the hot chocolate is spiked with either CBD or cannabis oil.
Spooky Worm Punch
1 mL CBD oil per expected serving
Start by placing gummy worms in the bottom of a cupcake tin and covering them in lime gelatin. Place these in the fridge to set.
When the gelatin is set, make the punch. In a punch bowl, place more gummy worms in the bottom. Add 3 cups of green juice of your choice, 1 2-liter bottle of lemon-lime soda and 1 ½ gallon container of lime sherbet. Stir in the CBD oil.
Add the gelatin gummy worms into the bowl so they can float. Add ice to keep cold or set the punch bowl on dry ice to chill from the exterior.
Spiked Spiced Cider
1 gallon apple cider
4 cinnamon sticks
25 mg cannabis or CBD oil
6 whole cloves
6 star anise
1 whole nutmeg
12 pink peppercorns
Place all ingredients in the crockpot and allow it to steep for 8 hours on low. Serve with a cinnamon stick in a thick mug.
The serving of cannabis or CBD oil per person is small. Spike this further by adding spiced rum (at 1-oz per serving).
Bloody Candy Corn Shots
1 box orange gelatin
Yellow food coloring
Disposable shot glasses
Heated raspberry jam
1 cup vodka in the cake or vanilla flavors
2 drops cannabis oil or 5 drops CBD oil per shot
3 envelopes of plain gelatin
7 oz. sweetened condensed milk
2 cups water
Combine 1 cup of water with 2 packets of gelatin in a saucepan on low heat. Dissolve the gelatin and remove from the heat. Stir in 3 ½ oz. of the sweetened condensed milk . Stir in 2/3 cup of vodka. Split into 2 equal parts in separate containers and set aside. Add yellow food coloring to one portion.
Put 1 teaspoon of the thinned raspberry jam into 20 shot glass and turn it upside down so the raspberry runs down the sides. Place the drops of cannabis or CBD oil into the bottom of 20 shot glasses. Pour an even amount of the white gelatin mixture into the shot glasses. This should fill the cups about 1/3 of the way. Refrigerate to set at last 30 minutes.
Once the white layer is set, make your orange gelatin by combining it with 1 envelope of plain gelatin and 1 cup of water. Add 1/3 cup of the vodka. Distribute among the 20 shot glasses to create the middle layer. Allow to set in the refrigerator.
When the middle layer is set, it’s time for the yellow layer.
Once completely set, feel free to drizzle a little more raspberry blood onto the top with an edible fingertip or other themed edible item (gummy worms, eyeballs, edible spiders, etc.)
Blood Orange Spritzer Infused Beverages
2 drops cannabis oil or 5 drops CBD oil per glass
6 blood oranges
½ cup sugar (for decorating purposes)
1 tart apple, chopped
12 oz. fresh strawberries sliced
1 pint strawberries
1 ½ cups club soda
2 bottles pinot grigio wine
½ cup grapefruit juice
Zest one blood orange and juice the remainder of it. Slice the rest of the oranges and place into a large pitcher or cauldron. Chop the apples and add the cannabis or CBD oil, allow it to soak into the fruit. Add the apples to the container with the apples. Add the club soda, wine and grapefruit juice. Stir. Float the raspberries and strawberries in the mixture. Chill for 2 hours before serving.
Make these spookier infused beverages by floating eyeballs, spiders or gummy worms in the container.
