Stay at home orders will be lifting soon and that means that gatherings will soon be happening again. You’ll need some snacks for those summer gatherings. We’ve put together a few tasty summer CBD snacks to share with friends and family using our tinctures. Canna Trading Co. CBD tinctures are quite versatile as they can be used as-is, added to food or even used for topical applications. We enjoy showing you the different ways that our tinctures can be put to use.
CBD Peanut Butter Power Balls
Peanut butter is a great protein alternative when you also want something a little sweet. You can substitute any nut or seed butter in this recipe if there are nut allergies in the house. You can also make this in peanut butter and alternative nut butters for variety on your serving tray.
1 ½ cups peanut butter or nut butter alternative
1 cup whole butter
2 droppers Canna Trading Co. 1500 mg Vanilla Tincture
4 cups powdered sugar
2 cups dark chocolate chips
1 tablespoon coconut oil
½ cup sunflower kernels
1 1/3 cups chocolate or honey graham crackers
All you need to do here is mix the peanut butter, butter, powdered sugar and crushed graham crackers in a bowl and roll them into balls. Melt the chocolate chips over a double boiler and add the coconut oil. Dip the peanut butter balls into the melted chocolate and set onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
Chill in the refrigerator for about 2 hours.

- Toasted coconut
- Toasted almonds
- Toasted and chopped pecans
These CBD peanut butter power balls are also great with a side of raspberry or strawberry sauce.
Spicy Spinach Artichoke Dip with Organic Olive Oil Tincture
The olive oil for our Organic Olive Oil Tincture comes from a farm just 10 miles from our facility. Its flavor is rich and pure. The flavor makes it a perfect addition to this spicy spinach artichoke dip. You can serve this dip in a pumpernickel bread bowl, with crackers, with bread or you can even serve it over pasta or on flatbread to make a tasty gourmet pizza at home.
8 oz. softened cream cheese
2 droppers 1500 mg Organic Olive Oil Tincture
½ cup grated parmesan cheese
1 large clove garlic smashed and minced
½ teaspoon fresh or dry basil
½ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ cup mayonnaise
Healthy pinch of sea salt
2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flake (you can also substitute ½ teaspoon Sambal or cayenne pepper)
1 jar marinated artichoke hearts drained and coarsely chopped
1 ½ cups fresh spinach
½ cup fresh mozzarella cheese shredded
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
Mix the parmesan cheese, herbs/spices, garlic, pepper, sea salt, cream cheese and mayonnaise in a bowl.
Toss your spinach into a skillet and wilt it slightly. The heat should be medium low as you’re just warming the spinach, not actually cooking it. You can toss the artichoke hearts into the mix to add a little moisture if you want to.
Fold the spinach and artichokes into your cream cheese mixture. Turn it out into a baking dish and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake for 25 minutes.
Let it sit 10 minutes and then drizzle your Organic Olive Oil Tincture over the top and gently cut it into the dip.
The CBD Veggie Flatbread
Flatbreads are great for sharing and they’re one of our favorite summer CBD snacks. They’re quick and easy to make, so you could make a few different ones too. You can also change the CBD drizzle on top to match the flavors of your flatbread easily too. We’ll offer a few suggestions after the recipe.
1 pizza dough or refrigerated bread dough
1/3 cup butter (or olive oil)
1 cup cremini mushrooms
½ cup fresh broccoli florets
½ cup fresh spinach
½ cup kale
½ Vidalia onion
2 cloves garlic smashed, peeled and minced
½ cup shredded or sliced provolone
Pinch of sea salt
Handful of black olives sliced in half
3 droppers Organic Olive Oil Tincture
2 tablespoons fresh chopped Italian parsley
Pinch of crushed red pepper flakes
Pinch of dry oregano
Pinch of dry rosemary
2 tablespoons olive oil
Starting with the ingredients from the Organic Olive Oil Tincture down, mix these items in a bowl and set them aside.
Press your dough out onto a baking sheet. Brush on your olive oil or butter. Add the herbs and salt. Arrange your vegetables (they don’t have to be cut any specific way). Sprinkle or lay your cheese over the top.
Bake for 15 minutes at 450 degrees.
Once it comes out of the oven, give your CBD tincture a quick stir and drizzle it over the top before cutting the flatbread. Feel free to leave a little on the side for dipping.
Additional options/ideas for this flatbread:
- Make it spicy and tangy with pepperoni and banana peppers with a cayenne Organic Olive Oil Tincture drizzle
- Go the sweet route with a dessert flatbread. In this instance you’d use our Canna Trading Co Peppermint or Vanilla Tinctures
- Go Greek style with tomatoes, red onions, spinach, Kalamata olives and feta. Just add Alchemy to your favorite Greek dressing and drizzle that over the top instead.
- How about an Asian flatbread? Marinate chicken or steak in yellow curry powder, turmeric, Sambal, garlic, soy sauce, and ginger. Dress it with mung beans, green onions and sesame seeds. Make a drizzle with Alchemy, sesame oil, black bean garlic sauce and a few dashes of teriyaki
If you’re a griller, feel free to grill this flatbread. It only takes a few minutes, so you’ll need to keep an eye on it.
